At the conclusion of this activity the participants should be able to:

  • Discuss the differential diagnosis and workup of patients with encephalitis 
  • Review the overlap between the clinical presentation of encephalitis and psychosis, as well as the distinguishing features of each 
  • Discuss the management of encephalitis and how treatments differ based on etiology being bacterial, viral, or autoimmune
  • Discuss the barriers to care faced by Non-English speaking and English as a Second Language patients and parents and strategies to provide equitable care
