At the conclusion of this activity the participants should be able to:

  1. Review the updated clinical practice guidelines and key action statements in regards to care of the well appearing febrile neonate from 8-60 days old 
  2. Discuss the three proposed algorithms regarding care of febrile neonates aged 8-21 days old, 22-28 days old, and 29-60days old 
  3. Discuss the changing bacteriology, advances in technology, and cost of care considerations that led to the development of these updated guidelines
