APH EBBHS: Risk Management: Child and Adolescent Population

This presentation will develop a clearer understanding how to manage risks involved in working with children and adolescents and more clarity with regards to how law and ethics plays a role in this process.

Target Audience

The program is aimed at psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, nurses and other allied health professionals who deal with mental health issues and addiction medicine.

Learning Objectives

  1. Recognize instances when you need to begin to weigh risk management or consult when involved in treatment
  2. Describe the factors that need to be considered when making a decision regarding risk management (ethics, state laws, patient rights, confidentiality)
  3. Describe confidentiality with an adolescent and how it differs from informed consent
