This presentation will discuss the safety and behavioral management of Autism Spectrum Disorders.

Target Audience

This course is intended for psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, nurses, and other allied health professionals who deal with mental health issues and addiction medicine.

Learning Objectives

At the end of this session, learners should be able to:

  1. Discuss nonpharmacological interventions including effective sensory-based protocol and practical interventions for children with autism
  2. Implement treatment strategies for working with children and adolescents with sensory processing difficulties and behavioral meltdowns
  3. Identify procedures directly related to patient and staff safety when implementing behavior management strategies and individuals with ASD
