Target Audience

This course is intended for psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, nurses, and other allied health professionals who deal with mental health issues and addiction medicine.

Learning Objectives

At the end of this session, learners should be able to:

  1. Understand the need to integrate the concepts of wellness and recovery
  2. Identify barriers traditional SUD treatment has unintentionally placed which hinder identification and treatment of mental illness
  3. Identify the strength and limitations of motivational interventions with SUD clients
  4. Discover treatment models which assist clients in developing greater wellness
