History

This course is intended to provide education to practitioners regarding the Evaluation & Management (E&M) documentation guidelines from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).  The education outlines the key components (e.g. history, exam, and medical decision making), provides documentation tips and examples of how the guidelines are applied, and also addresses other factors involved in selecting E&M service codes.  The E&M Documentation Guidelines courses are intended to be another method for practitioners to learn and better understand the guidelines on their own time and at their own pace.
