Integrative and Functional Medicine
This workshop will examine the core principles of Integrative and Functional Medicine and how these approaches can be applied to psychological health concerns. It will review the latest research on integrative and functional approaches to treating Anxiety, Depression, ADD/ADHD, PTSD, Insomnia, and other mental health concerns with a focus on practical application. The goal of this presentation is to expand your toolkit so that both you and your patients have increased options to address mental health concerns.
Target Audience
The program is aimed at psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, nurses and other allied health professionals who deal with mental health issues and addiction medicine.
Learning Objectives
At the end of this session, learners should be able to:
- Describe the core principles of Integrative and Functional Medicine and summarize supporting literature
- Identify patients who may benefit from relevant consultation and identify available options for Integrative and Functional Medicine within Aurora and the greater community
- Recognize three Integrative and Functional Medicine treatment modalities that can be incorporated into practice
- Identify resources for further learning
