Integrative Medicine for Mental Health 2.0: Growing Your Toolbox

September 18, 2020

This conference is being held virtually.

This workshop will introduce participants to the concept of integrative medicine and how practitioners can use it to assist their patients in the process of addressing mental health concerns. There will be a brief overview of concepts covered at the first integrative medicine presentation in February 2019, followed by topics that will both broaden and deepen participants’ understanding of an integrative approach to mental health (attendance at previous presentation not required).

Target Audience

This course is intended for Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Social Workers, Nurses and other Allied Health Professionals who deal with mental health issues and addiction medicine.

Learning Objectives

At the end of this session, learners should be able to:

  1. Describe integrative medicine to patients and colleagues and identify 1-2 integrative therapies they will use with patients
  2. Summarize relevant literature supporting the use of integrative approaches in the assessment and treatment of mental health concerns
  3. Identify patients for whom integrative consultation could be beneficial and key resources for further learning about integrative approaches for mental health
