Integrative Mental Health

Aurora Integrative Medicine presents Integrative Approaches to Mental Health as a combination approach of conventional medical care along with the use of integrative practices including supplements, lifestyle factors, self-care strategies, and integrative therapies.  Dr. Shelly Crane, FAIHM and Medical Director for Aurora Wiselives, will be featured as well as an integrative coach and an integrative therapist.  We will also be presenting on resources available to providers and patients through Aurora Integrative Medicine such as Wellevate, educational offerings, online resources, and patient education handouts.

Target Audience

This course is intended for psychotherapists, psychologists, physicians, and other interested health professions who treat patients and their families in mental health or addiction settings.

Learning Objectives

At the end of this session, learners should be able to:

  1. Define integrative medicine and describe how its use in the mental health setting can improve patient outcomes.
  2. Describe key components of an integrative evaluation and treatment approach.
  3. Identify at least 3 supplements that may benefit people with mental health concerns. 
  4. Discover lifestyle factors and self-care practices that can positively influence healing from mental health concerns.  
  5. Recognize how and where to access resources available from Aurora Integrative Medicine.
