MEDtalks/Physician & Provider Wellness: The Impact of COVID-19 on Behavioral Health Recorded Session

Studies are showing that all aspects of our lives are being negatively affected by the stresses from the COVID-19 pandemic. In order to offer the best care for our patient’s needs, this requires an understanding of the stress response and the potential coping mechanisms. This webinar will address the stress response and its effects on patients’ health and well-being.

Target Audience

This course is intended for All AAH team members with focus on patient and provider well-being most relevant to clinical staff (physicians, advanced practice providers, and nurses)

Learning Objectives

At the end of this session, learners should be able to:

  • Define the Stress Response
  • Describe and identify symptoms of stress and maladaptive coping responses in themselves and others
  • Outline steps for addressing the stress response in pediatric/adult patients
  • Identify the impact on provider and secondary effect of trauma on the provider
  • Identify adaptive coping strategies to improve resilience and reduce negative impact of stress
