The Milwaukee Heart Failure Symposium is designed to demonstrate innovations in the evaluation and treatment of heart failure. The primary goal is to promote excellence in the field of heart failure by encouraging the development and discussion of new advances in techniques and treatment. This one-day symposium will educate physicians and other health care providers about cutting-edge therapies supporting diagnosis and state-of-the-art treatment of heart failure, management of comorbid conditions, pulmonary hypertension, cardiomyopathies, mechanical circulatory support, and heart transplantation.  Thought leaders in the field have been carefully selected for their expertise and teaching skills to provide a rigorous and interactive learning experience.

Target Audience

This course is intended for cardiovascular surgeons, cardiologists, internal medicine, hospital medicine, family practice, advance practice clinicians, nurses, and subspecialty trainees.

Learning Objectives

At the end of this session, learners should be able to:

  1. Evaluate current challenges in global care of heart failure patients
  2. Analyze cutting edge device therapy/surgery options in the treatment of heart failure
  3. Recognize the best diagnostic and treatment options for heart failure
  4. Identify patients for advanced heart failure therapies 
  5. Develop management strategies and collaboration involving unique patient populations and specialized programs
