Overview of the core elements of outpatient antimicrobial stewardship set by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, key elements of performance set by the Joint Commission for antimicrobial stewardship in ambulatory health care​, designing and implementing an outpatient antimicrobial stewardship program​, and the benefits of pharmacist involvement in outpatient antimicrobial stewardship programs. ​

•Identify high-priority conditions for antimicrobial stewardship intervention
•Compare and contrast the core elements of outpatient antimicrobial stewardship set by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the key elements of performance set by Det Norske Veritas (DNV)
•Evaluate the benefits of pharmacist involvement in outpatient antimicrobial stewardship programs
