Learning Objectives

At the completion of this activity, the participant will be able to

  • Review what hot labs and radiopharmaceuticals are and where are they used within the Advocate-Aurora Health​
  • Identify clinical monitoring and counseling pearls for pharmacists on radiopharmaceuticals such as Technetium-99m, Sodium Iodide I 123 and I 131, Yttrium-90​, and Xenon-133
  • Review patient counseling pearls and clinical monitoring parameters prior to a PET/CT scans​
  • Recognize USP <825> standards related to safety, beyond use dates, and hot-lab management​
  • Summarize the purpose and background of USP <825> and why it's relevant to pharmacy professionals​​
