Airway Management-Whitewater EMS 4th Quarter 2020
In EMS, two of the major components that are of the utmost importance in our assessments is airway and breathing - the A and B of the ABCs. EMS has a number of tools that can be used to either monitor the patient's airway and respiratory drive, or to intervene and provide the patient with the means to recover from the illness or injury. These tools can be used diagnostically to get a better understanding of what underlying ailment is afflicting the patient and what we in EMS need to do to ensure the patient has the best chance for a positive outcome.
