Topic: Get Climate Smart: Why Us?

Overview: In this session we will review the impacts of climate on patients' health. We will highlight four aspects of climate change and health consequences: air quality, rising temperatures, vector-borne diseases, and extreme weather. AAH clinicians from pharmacy, medicine, nursing, and social work will use brief clinical vignettes to illustrate these effects.

  1. Discuss how climate change will impact patient’s health and care 
  2. Initiate conversations with patients about how climate change will impact their health
  3. Collaborate with the health care team to manage chronic and acute illnesses associated with climate change

Target Audience:  This activity is designed for advance practice clinicians, nurses, pharmacists, physicians, social workers, and members of the health care team who are interested in climate change and its impacts on health.
