TELEICU Journal Club 2022: Surviving Sepsis Campaign: International Guidelines for Management of Sepsis and Septic Shock 2021

September 20, 2022 to November 30, 2022

Nurses are seeking knowledge and asking questions regarding clinical situations to improve their care of critical patients. Literature suggests that journal clubs engage nurses in learning about evidence-based practices and integrating these best practices into the clinical setting. Thus, implementing these evidence-based practices will lead to better and improved patient outcomes.
Sepsis is life-threatening organ dysfunction with septic shock are major healthcare problem. Early identification and appropriate management in the initial hours after the development of sepsis will improve outcomes.
The recommendations are intended to provide guidance for the clinician caring for adult patients with sepsis or septic shock in the hospital setting. Recommendations from these guidelines cannot replace the clinician’s decision-making capability when presented with a unique patient’s clinical variables and are intended to reflect best practice.
