Series date:

Course Director:

Veronica Hernandez MSN, MBA, RN, CCDS

Overview:

Clinical Documentation Integrity Education is centered around key topics identified across Advocate Health as evident by 3rd party missed documentation clarification opportunities, CDI teammate assessments, and data trends on our KRA dashboard. We are committed to the growth of our CDI nurses and strive to obtain consistent communication across our teams through the utilization of Documentation Alignment Reference Cards (DARC) and evidenced best practices. As we present topics, the focus will include diagnoses, diagnostic criteria, treatment, ICD-10 CM code assignment, and query opportunities. AHA coding clinics and facility case studies are presented to demonstrate the impact of documentation on DRG, severity of illness, and risk of mortality.

This series is offered three times each year through Microsoft Teams and is meant for Advocate Aurora employees only.

Overall Objectives:

1. Identify diagnostic criteria and potential query opportunity associated with those diagnoses.
2. Apply identified criteria to query construction.
