4th Annual Comprehensive Kidney Symposium Management of Kidney Disease 2021

May 12, 2021

The prevalence of Chronic Kidney Disease is growing in the country due to the increase of cardiovascular disease and diabetes.  Protocols related to kidney transplant candidacy and maintaining patients’ health while waiting for a kidney are complex and change constantly. The United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) guidelines for organ distribution were changed which affected the distribution of organs regionally and are in the process of being modified again. Spreading awareness about the current state of transplantation and changes like these with medical professionals, provides the tools necessary for well-rounded care of patients with chronic kidney disease, who often have multiple comorbidities.
