Is it Still Cool to Cool? Recorded Session

This session will provide education on how and when to cool patients. Learn about the history of inducing hypothermia, explore neuroprotective interventions to improve outcomes, and become familiar with mechanisms of brain injury from ischemia and hypoxia. This lecture will also review practice guidelines for reducing brain injury in comatose patients after cardiopulmonary resuscitation, review HYPERION trial, and review the New TTM2 study published in 2021.

Target Audience

This course is intended for all physicians including generalists, neurologists, intensivists, radiologists, and pathologists, RN's, PA's, NP's, RTT's, and various other members of the health care team

  2. Discover studies and guidelines about cooling after cardiac arrest
  3. Discuss what we know so far about effects of temperature on neurons and what should we do
  4. Recognize how to cool and what patients would benefit
