Making Sense: The New Cancer Screening Guidelines
This conference will review the latest innovation and guidelines in screening for the most prevalent cancers. Cancer prevention and screening recommendations continue to evolve, driven by cancer control research and by an increasing focus on population health and reducing health disparities and inequities. The goal of this educational offering is to update clinicians about new cancer screening guidelines and recommendations and ultimately increase cancer screenings through early detection, and to improve outcomes.

Target Audience
This course is intended for physicians, nurse practitioners, technicians , nurses, fellows and residents in the fields of oncology, primary care, general surgery, dermatology, GI, OB/GYN, that are interested in the latest Innovations and guidelines in cancer screening.
Learning Objectives
At the end of this session, learners should be able to:
- Communicate effectively with patients about benefits of early cancer detection and prevention
- Describe evidence- based methods for lung, breast, skin, colorectal and cervical cancers
- Utilize evolving U.S guidelines for cancer screening in clinical practice
- Determine and manage high risk breast patients
- Describe and communicate the role of genetics in cancer screening
- Review best practices to identify and properly refer patients with a possible cancer diagnosis
