10th Annual Advanced Heart Failure Symposium 2022
This symposium was designed to provide an update on topics in the field of advanced heart failure, cardiac transplantation and left ventricular assist device therapy. This conference also will educate cardiovascular disease practitioners on the latest insights into cardiogenic shock diagnosis and management along with updates in medical therapy for chronic heart failure.
This conference is being held virtually.
Target Audience
This activity is designed for physicians, nurses, and other health care professionals
Learning Objectives
At the end of this session, learners should be able to:
- Interpret which patients constitute “advanced” heart failure and the key clinical characteristics associated with high clinical risk
- Assess updates in management for cardiogenic shock care and role of a shock team
- Identify how to apply appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic strategies for patients across the spectrum of heart failure
- Formulate when referral for advanced heart failure therapies is indicated
- Evaluate the full spectrum of invasive hemodynamics in the clinical practice of heart failure care
- Implement cornerstones of guideline-directed medical therapy for heart failure management
- Incorporate new advances in non-invasive monitoring for rejection in heart transplantation care
- Describe the role of palliative care in destination therapy LVAD care
- Employ management strategies for right ventricular failure and pulmonary hypertension in the critical care setting
- Utilize new advances and therapies in the management of heart failure with preserved ejection fraction
