Pharmacogenomics in Major Depressive Disorder

Recent studies have been published providing more information on the utilization of pharmacogenomics in Major Depressive Disorder. This activity will provide a brief overview of pharmacogenomics and the recent use in pharmacy practice, justify the use in this disease state, and provide an opportunity to practice creating an antidepressant therapy plan based on pharmacogenomic results.

At the completion of this activity, the participant will be able to

•    Define pharmacogenomics and the current utilization in pharmacy practice
•    Justify the use of pharmacogenomics in Major Depressive Disorder
•    Using pharmacogenomic principles, create an antidepressant therapy plan for a patient
