Eating Disorders: Identified, Defined, and Treated Recorded Sessions

This program will examine complexities of eating disorders providing a general overview, discussion of treatment and treatment outcomes, review of cultural and media influences on body image and will create a set of resources for clinicians working with eating disorders.

Disclaimer: The Eating Disorders Services (EDS) at Advocate Aurora Health (AAH) no longer provides treatment but functions under an "Assessment & Referral Model" of intervention for patients who are at high risk for the development of an eating disorder, or who present with disordered eating and/or abnormal behaviors around eating and food. These services include therapeutic and nutrition assessments, education, bridge support and referrals for specialized ED care for patients at the APH IP/PHP/IOP levels of care.  This education session provides an excellent overview of eating disorders, highlights the standards of care, gives additional data, and highlights trends in the field. Participants will receive a comprehensive list of eating disorders treatment facilities currently available in the State of WI. Added note: speakers are no longer employed with AAH.
