Target Audience

Those who work in Aurora Pain Clinics, including Physicians, PA’s, Psychologists, NP’s, Psychiatrists, EM, FM, Social Workers, Substance Abuse Counselors.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this educational experience, the participant will be able to demonstrate expertise in:

Back pain

  1. The differences between the various types of spinal pathology and how they generate pain.
  2. Optimal treatment approaches for each type of low back pain
  3. How to explain these approaches to patients to optimize compliance
  4. When to consider referral for surgery

Neuropathic pain

  1. How to diagnose it
  2. Factors which differentiate it from other types of pain
  3. Treatment approaches
