Cardiovascular Journal Club 2022 Continuing Nursing Education: Acute Cardiorenal Syndrome: Mechanisms and Clinical Implications
The acute cardiorenal syndrome is a journal club/independent study. The acute cardiorenal syndrome journal club/independent study activity will identify basic pathophysiology, the two types of acute cardiac dysfunction, associated acute kidney injury, comorbidities associated with the disease, diagnosis and clinical assessment, treatment/management, and preventive strategies. The journal club content includes a scholarly article for the learner to read and then take a post-test. The post-test questions were created from the scholarly article content and both the article and quiz are readily available to the learner via the activity flyer or through the Sherman journal club website. The learner can reach out to the contact person, via email with questions, assistance needs or if they need assistance locating resources. The effectiveness of the study is assessed by the quiz that consists of multiple choice and true/false questions. The learner must achieve an 80% on the quiz to pass and obtain 1 CE credit.
Desired learning outcome
Learners will demonstrate increased knowledge of the care of patients with cardiorenal syndrome by passing a quiz with 80% or greater.
