Updates in the Management of Cystic Fibrosis

This presentation will discuss the pathophysiology, complications, and management of cystic fibrosis through review of clinical practice guidelines and analysis of literature evidence. This presentation will also address newer, targeted therapies for cystic fibrosis.

Learning Objectives

At the completion of this activity, the participant will be able to

  • Recognize the pathophysiology of cystic fibrosis.
  • Identify three diagnoses that may present as complications of cystic fibrosis.
  • Apply recommendations from the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Guidelines for the management of cystic fibrosis to a patient case.
  • Evaluate cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) modulators for efficacy in cystic fibrosis patients.
