WI Worker's Compensation: Permanent Partial Disability

The worker's compensation system is an evolving system and many physicians do not know how to find resources to help them navigate the system. Many physicians are not aware of the protocol of treating patients covered in the workers’ compensation system most specifically in the permanent partial disability arena.

This course focuses on PPD in workers compensation which is a permanent partial disability. That means the employee does not have the same function to the injured body part that he had prior to the injury, and the employee is not expected to regain the pre-injury function in the future. In other words, that body part will not ever be the same. The degree of permanent partial disability or disability rating, is determined by the medical doctor that has been treating the injured worker and is not based on the worker’s opinion.
