Safety Champion Initial Training November 14

The purpose of this course is to provide high reliability, process improvement, and event reporting and investigation training for AAH safety champions. Safety champions and leaders, please join your site safety team members to learn more about the high reliability tools and tactics, process improvement, and how we all contribute to our journey to zero preventable serious harm events! Thank you for being a part of our journey to healthcare without harm.

Target Audience

This course is designed for leaders, nurses, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and other interested frontline care team members who wish to serve as department safety champions.

 

Learning Objectives

At the end of this session, learners should be able to:

  1. Define high reliability
  2. Apply the 5 principles of high reliability to your daily work
  3. Modify your department or unit huddle to be more focused on safety and efficient
  4. Demonstrate effective event reporting
  5. Describe the role of the safety champion
  6. Demonstrate the safety champion's triage of safety event reports
