Objectives: At the conclusion of this activity the participants should be able to:
- Provide an overview of relevant hereditary cancer syndromes and identify the genes involved.
- Discuss a Generalist OB/Gyn role screening for individuals with a genetic predisposition to these syndromes.
- Discuss available risk assessment strategies and tools for detection of patients at risk
- Discuss the spectrum of available genetics tests and those commonly used at Illinois Masonic
- Discuss when to refer to a genetic professional, gynecologic oncologist, and/or other specialists
